Patients can access Physiotherapy services by self referral, without having to speak to a doctor first. 

First Contact Physiotherapy

Do you have a new musculoskeletal health issue that you feels needs diagnosis and management?

The First Contact Physiotherapy team can help you. 

They are based in the GP surgery, and can be accessed via the GP surgery reception team.

They can assess, diagnose and provide treatment for new musculoskeletal health problems. 

They can also arrange scans and onward referral to other specialities, if they feel that this is nessessary. 

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

For ongoing physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation, contact the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team.

They can provide longer term physiotherapy treatment of muscle, bone and joint problems, as well as rehabilitation after surgery, fractures and injuries.

If you are 16 years old or over, you can self refer for this service.

Phio Digital Physiotherapy Service

Phio is a digital service offered by NHS Borders, which is designed and supported by Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists.

If offers self management of musculoskeletal conditions, tailored to different conditions and supported by Phio Physiotherapists.

Accessed for free, anytime, on any device that has internet access.
